Parnuna Egede Dahl is a Joint PhD Fellow at Ilisimatusarfik (Institute of Social Science, Arctic Oil & Gas Research Centre) – and Aalborg University (Department of Planning, Danish Centre for Environmental Assessment). In collaboration with the Inuit Circumpolar Council - Greenland, her research focuses on the utilization of Indigenous knowledge in environmental impact assessments of extractive industry projects in Greenland and the Canadian Arctic. Her primary supervisor is prof. Anne Merrild Hansen, with prof. Mark Nuttall and prof. Pelle Tejsner as secondary advisors. Parnuna is currently finalizing her PhD dissertation, and was earlier in her studies part of the research environment at the Arctic Research Centre at Aarhus University, and part of the editorial group of the Arctic Council’s Arctic EIA project on “Good Practice Recommendations for Environmental Impact Assessment and Public Participation in the Arctic”. Prior to the PhD project she worked for the Inuit Circumpolar Council – Greenland as Advisor on Environmental Issues. Besides the PhD project she is working as an independent consultant in Sammivik Consult on Arctic and Greenlandic issues. Parnuna holds a MSc degree in Biology with specialty in Biological Oceanography from the University of Southern Denmark in Odense.
