I am employed as an assistant professor at the Institute of Social Science, Economics & Journalism, Ilisimatusarfik and the Institute of Social Science and Business, Roskilde University.
My research interests are in the field of management, organization and collaboration. I am interested in examining how the management activity takes place as a collective activity that develops the organizational context. The type of leadership that concerns me is relational, situational, responsive and reflexive. To understand the management practice, I examine management where it takes place, and zoom in on interactions and thus the microprocesses in organizational practices. That is, I see management as something that is closely linked to the daily practice of the organizations and the routines associated with it. Methodologically, I approach the research on the basis of ethnographic methods - and insist on placing myself where relevant and interesting organizational activities take place. I am currently working on describing and understanding how leadership plays out in Greenlandic organizations on the basis of observations and interviews.
In addition, I am interested in developing and integrating problem-oriented project work in educational programmes - and developing the relationship between the university and the surrounding community. Through the problem-oriented project work, issues are developed that can produce relevant knowledge that is needed.
