TJ works with historical and cultural analytical studies of perceptions of and practices with ageing, health and food in Greenland and Denmark since 1900. She has a keen interest in relations between science, politics and everyday life in the welfare state. TJ is experienced in developing and working on interdisciplinary research and development projects containing citizen involvement, co-design processes and municipal partners. TJ is currently heading the research- and development project Ageing in the Arctic and engaged in work on the Alliartorneq project and the CEHA outreach project Fra Arbejdsliv til Seniorliv. TJ is moreover active in Nordic networks on ageing and dementia and engaged in integrating research in teaching activities.

TJ is associate professor in health and ageing research at CoRe CoRe – Center for Health Research in the Humanities, Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen and assigned associate professor at GCHR-Greenland Center for Health Research, Institute of Nursing and Health Science, Ilisimatusarfik. TJ presently teaches students at KS, Ilisimatusarfik and Ethnology, University of Copenhagen.
