Since March 2022, Sonja has been employed at the Institute of Health & Nature, and the Centre for Public Health in Greenland, SDU, as a scientific assistant. Sonja has a background as a physiotherapist and has later written a master's thesis on perception of exercise-induced pain in healthy individuals.

Sonja works broadly in public health - and in the most recent project in work environment / health environment with a special interest in musculoskeletal disorders and science of pain. Sonja works with several methods, but is particularly interested in getting a deeper insight into citizens' or patients' lives, often through qualitative methods as well as community-participatory research.
