PhD project: Promotion of well-being among children and young people in Greenland

The overall aim of the PhD project is to investigate the promotion of mental health and well-being among children and young people in Greenland. I examine this both at a political level through analysis of political documents, and at an institutional level in the form of kindergartens and schools working to promote children's social competences through the nationwide intervention Kammagiitta. I examine professionals' acquisition, practice and learning outcomes of the intervention, as well as experience impact on the target group. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, the project focuses on examining professionals' acquisition, practice and learning outcomes of the interventions, as well as their experience of impact. The project is funded by the Mary Foundation, Greenland Self-rule Government, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Church, Ilisimatusarfik and the University of Aarhus. Supervisors: Birgitte Holm Sørensen, Ilisimatusarfik, Venka Simovska, Aarhus University, Jan Kampmann, Roskilde University, Carsten Obel, Aarhus University.

Research areas: mental health, well-being, children and young people, interventions
