Exhibition at Ilinniarfissuaq
20.10.2016
As something new at the Institute of Learning, Ilinniarfissuaq, all students who take the subject Arts & Architecture have had a 3-day course in the subject Multimedia in arts.
The course was finished with an exhibition.
During the 3 days, the iPad has been in focus as a tool where different apps were used to process works.
The apps used were:
- Paper (fifty three)
- Pixelmator
- Bookcreator
- iMotion
- iMovie
- Minecraft
By trying and experimenting with the various apps, the students have experienced the differences between the uses of the apps.
By using ipads in teaching, the teacher has had to be attentive to the different didactic considerations and not just teach how to use the different apps – but also include the apps in relation to the goals of the subjects in the teaching situation.
For example, the students have made stop motion films about fairytales in iMotion. With that, genres are included in the teaching via the iMotion app, where subject didactics are included.
Other things which have been included and worked upon are street-art, image manipulation and dream house drawing.
The students have experienced that a simple app and a few tools can be used in many ways and in many teaching possibilities in primary and lower secondary schools.
Works of the students are exhibited in the Ilinniarfissuaq main building – you can see a section of them below (both photos and films).
- StopMotion film: Askepot (Cinderella)
- StopMotion film: Shehvide (Snow White)
- StopMotion film: Rødhætte (Red Riding Hood)
- StopMotion film: Den lille pige med svovlstikkerne (The little match girl)
