"Communicating climate change"

Topics like climate and environmental change are hugely important, but also notoriously difficult to explain to the public.

How can journalists and other communicators best engage their audiences to provide vital news and data on the challenges our planet is facing and how to adapt to them?

These important aspects were covered when James Fahn, the Executive Director of Internews’ Earth Journalism Network and a journalism lecturer at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, visited Ilisimatusarfik 22 May.

Here, together with students and staff, he discussed the role of the media in covering these vital topics and various strategies for providing the public and decision-makers with the news and information they need to build resilience among vulnerable communities.
