CASES 2025 - a unique summer course


Ilisimatusarfik is proud to help organize the exciting summer course CASES 2025 | Complex Inequalities and Regional Perspectives - East Greenland, taking place from 2 - 17 September 2025.
What is the summer course about?
The summer course is a unique opportunity for you as a student to have an experiential course where you meet and work with renowned researchers and experts from different disciplines.
Focusing on complex inequalities and regional perspectives, the course combines a wide range of social science fields such as anthropology, sociology, economics, geography and law.
It gives you insight into both scientific perspectives and the knowledge of indigenous peoples, businesses and government agencies working in the region.
Content of the course
You will work with students from Alaska, Canada and Sápmi, and the course language is English.
Throughout the course, you will attend presentations from WAGE mentors and have the opportunity to meet representatives from the communities of Nuuk, Tasiilaq, Tiilerilaaq and Kulusuk.
In addition, you will meet representatives from indigenous organizations and relevant authorities.
The course is a platform to actively contribute to discussions and gain hands-on experience with the complexities of the region.
Who can participate?
The course is open to both bachelor, graduate and PhD students interested in learning more about unique societal challenges and opportunities.
Students will be credited (number of ECTS points to be announced later).
