Nicole Lamb Ives, Associate Professor, is the Director of the School of Social Work, McGill University, and Co-Founder of Indigenous Access McGill.
Dr. Ives' areas of research include migration issues, particularly refugee resettlement, and indigenous social work education and indigenous social and educational policies.
Current research projects include post-secondary education experiences of Indigenous youth; Syrian refugee long-term health outcomes in Canada; integration experiences of refugee claimants in Quebec; and refugee children’s experiences of belonging in a recreational setting.
Dr. Ives is a founding member of Indigenous Access McGill, a program that supports Indigenous students in the School of Social Work and in the broader university.
She has published articles focused on Indigenous social work education, Indigenous social policy, and settlement as it relates to migrant integration and sponsorship. Dr. Ives is currently directing Inulirijiit, delivery of the Bachelor of Social Work degree in Nunavik, the Inuit territory in northern Quebec.
