During 08 - 10 October, Ilisimatusarfik hosted a conference titled "Crime, punishment, social marginalization and rehabilitation in small societies" - with participants from both Australia, Greenland and other countries in between.
The conference was organized by the Department of Social Science in collaboration with the working group "Crime, detention and control in Nordic island communities".
With the support from the Nordic Cooperation Council for Criminology, the working group has visited the Faroe Islands, Åland and Iceland - and was able to finish their work during the conference in Greenland.
At the conference, the working group presented the report "Crime and Crime Control in Four Nordic Island Societies: The Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and the Åland Islands".
