Call for papers: Greenland crime scene - fiction & reality
Theme in Greenland Culture and Society Research
Greenland crime scene - fiction & reality examines crime as it unfolds in Greenlandic reality and in the fiction about it. The theme aims to bring together Greenlandic research, especially at Ilisimatusarfik, on the diverse aspects of crime related to Greenlandic culture and society and its representation in literature, fiction and media.
The contributions will shed light on crime in Greenland from a number of different angles, e.g. life behind prison walls, legislation, reactions to crime, treatment of child abuse in Greenlandic, Danish and international media, true-crime podcasts featuring Greenland, the meaning-making function of crime depictions in TV fiction and crime novels. Crimes against human rights, population groups, cultural heritage, language use and linguistic norms etc. related to Greenland can also be topics for articles for this edition of Greenland Culture and Society Research.
