How do we keep nurses - and nursing students?
Interview with researcher Carsten Juul Jensen
Carsten Juul Jensen is sitting in the demo room near the hospital in Nuuk, where nursing students have practical training.
Carsten has a PhD in nursing and has spent a large part of his working life focusing on newly qualified nurses and their working life.
His PhD project: "Newly qualified nurses' encounters with the realities of medical units in reformed hospitals: an institutional ethnographic study" was completed in 2018 - but the research now continues in Greenland with a focus on Greenlandic students who spend their days studying at Ilisimatusarfik.
Because what are the circumstances that cause young people to drop out of the program or leave the nursing profession altogether?
That is what we try to find out in the video below (in Danish).
