Greenland Center for Health Research has just released their annual report for 2024, which focuses on sustainability and capacity building.
One of the big changes in 2024 was the appointment of Greenland's new Chief Medical Officer, Paneeraq Noahsen, who is the first female Chief Medical Officer in Greenlandic history.
Paneeraq Noahsen is also a PhD student at the Institute of Health & Nature.
The annual report also presents a new collaboration with University of Southern Denmark on a professional master's program starting in 2025.
The program is a four-year practice-based education that aims to improve the quality of nursing through evidence-based practice.
In addition, the first students on the new SILA bachelor in biology program began in February 2025.
Students will participate in a Qilaat workshop and learn about Inuit knowledge, technology and sustainability.
The Institute of Health & Nature continues to evolve and looks forward to future projects, including the NUNAMED 2025 conference, which will have the theme “Education and the Future”.
