At the beginning of 2026, Ilisimatusarfik welcomes two experienced and distinguished leaders as new heads of institute.
Lone Nukaaraq Møller takes up the position as head of the Institute of Health & Nature, while former rector Gitte Adler Reimer returns as the new head of the Institute of Culture, Language & History.
Both appointments mark an important step in the continued development and strengthening of Ilisimatusarfik – academically, strategically, and organizationally.
Lone Nukaaraq Møller is a trained biologist and holds a PhD in Veterinary Medicine. In addition, she has solid and broad management experience from both public administration and the municipal sector. She has been deputy minister in both the Department of Health and the Department of Education, Culture & Church - and since 2020, she has been Director of Administration for Children & Schools in Sermersooq Municipality.
Lone will start as head of institute on 15 February 2026.
At the same time, Gitte Adler Reimer returns to Ilisimatusarfik with an in-depth knowledge of Ilisimatusarfik and its work. As head of the Institute of Culture, Language & History, she now has the opportunity to continue her work closely involved with research, teaching, and professional development.
Gitte will start as head of institute on 1 January 2026.
Rector of Ilisimatusarfik, Mari Kleist, welcomes both appointments:
"We are incredibly pleased to have attracted two such strong and competent leaders. Lone Nukaaraq Møller and Gitte Adler Reimer each bring with them a wealth of experience, professional expertise, and strategic insight. I am very much looking forward to working with them and am convinced that they will both contribute significantly to Ilisimatusarfik's continued development."
Ilisimatusarfik is very much looking forward to welcoming the two new heads of institute - and to a close and fruitful collaboration in the new year.
Kind regards,
Mari Kleist, rector
