Mari Kleist is new pro rector at Ilisimatusarfik

The board at Ilisimatusarfik is pleased to announce the appointment of Mari Kleist as the new pro rector - and she will take up her new position on 1 February 2025.

Mari Kleist brings many years of experience from academia and a strong background in academic management. Her skills and commitment will play an important role in strengthening Ilisimatusarfik's continued development.

Since April 2024, Mari Kleist has been head of the Institute of Culture, Language & History at Ilisimatusarfik. She has played a central role in developing the institute's academic environments and creating growth both professionally and organizationally. Her leadership has also resulted in important collaborations, both nationally and internationally. These experiences and her in-depth understanding of the university's needs and challenges will now be brought into her new role as pro rector.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Mari Kleist to the rectorate at Ilisimatusarfik. Her solid experience and great commitment will undoubtedly be a great asset to the university. With Mari as new pro rector, we are confident that Ilisimatusarfik will continue its development as a dynamic university with strong collaboration across students, staff and external partners.
