Lauren is an ecologist who uses empirical field work in tandem with modeling approaches to explore interactions and feedbacks between changes in physical systems (e.g., temperature and hydrology) and biological systems (e.g., productivity, phenology, species abundances). Her field work in Greenland has focused on drying tundra ponds and the ecology of Arctic mosquitoes as pests of people and wildlife. For many years Lauren has co-led projects with collaborators in Greenland to improve the outcomes of research and education projects for communities in Greenland.
