Admission analysis 2024 - read the full analysis here!

We have now completed our admission analysis of the new students who started at Ilisimatusarfik in September 2024.

The analysis provides exciting insights into who our new students are and where they come from - and is an important part of our work to ensure quality and development at Ilisimatusarfik.

Here are some of the most interesting results from the analysis:

More new students

Ilisimatusarfik has experienced a steady increase in admission since 2011.

This is a positive trend that shows that more and more people are choosing Ilisimatusarfik as their place of education.

More women

In 2024, 77% of our new students are women.

This is a higher proportion than the women who graduate from GUX programs in Greenland.

This shows that women are choosing higher education at Ilisimatusarfik to a great extent.

Mature and experienced students

The average age of our new students is close to 30, which means that many start their education slightly later than the average in Western countries.

This reflects that many have taken the time to gain valuable experience and knowledge outside the traditional education system before starting at Ilisimatusarfik.

This background creates a rich and diverse learning environment, where students with different life experiences come together and contribute to a dynamic educational experience.

Students with children

A large proportion of new students already have families.

38% of bachelor students and 56% of master students have children at the start of their studies.

This shows that Ilisimatusarfik is an attractive choice, even for those juggling family life and studies.
