Ilisimatusarfik has a new professor - and it is a well-known and appreciated figure: Steven Arnfjord.
After more than 15 years as a lecturer and researcher at Ilisimatusarfik, Steven has now been awarded the title of professor - after a positive professional assessment and approval from the Academic Council at Ilisimatusarfik.
For years, Steven Arnfjord has contributed significantly to both teaching, social debate and research - with an impressive back catalog of research projects and publications.
Among the most notable is the first nationwide count of homelessness in Greenland - work that has set a new standard for social research in Greenland.
His research is wide-ranging, but has always focused on the human perspective - and his voice is one of the clearest when it comes to illuminating and understanding social conditions in Greenland.
The appointment as professor is both a recognition of his great professional commitment and a milestone for Ilisimatusarfik.
We wish Steven Arnfjord a big and warm congratulations - and we look forward to his inaugural lecture immediately after the summer vacation.
