Nation building in the Greenlandic classroom

Steen Beck, who heads Center for Pedagogical Innovation at the Institute of Learning and also heads the institute's master's program in Didactics, Cultural Encounters & Change Processes, has published an online publication entitled "Nation building in the Greenlandic classroom - a historical and current perspective on education and teaching" (in Danish).

The purpose of this publication is primarily to present and discuss current educational research and pedagogical-didactic practice relevant to the Greenlandic education system as a whole - with a particular focus on primary and secondary education.

The material is a combination of an introduction to socio-cultural issues and a practical guide for educators seeking inspiration to develop their teaching and school environment. It is a valuable resource for those who want to understand and improve the educational landscape in Greenland.

The publication focuses on themes that are also included in the master's program, which begins with a new class in September 2024.
