New book about Arnarulunnguaq

Pauline Knudsen, Head of Department of Cultural & Social History, has just published a new book about the fascinating Arnarulunnguaq.

Atuagkat describes the book as a unique opportunity to dive into the incredible Arctic expedition that Arnarulunnguaq took part in.

She was a brave Inuk woman who, between 1921 and 1924, traveled 18,000 kilometers by dog sled from Greenland to Alaska.

Although her achievement is nothing short of remarkable, no book has ever been written about her before - nor has Arnarulunnguaq herself shared her story.

With her book, Pauline Knudsen seeks to shed light on who Arnarulunnguaq was as a person and what role she played in this landmark journey.
